CNC Drill Operator/Programmer

Open position: CNC Drill Operator/Programmer


Job Summary: 

The CNC Drilling Operator sets up, operates and/or tends to the drill machine(s) to drill, bore, ream, mill or countersink metal work pieces. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate drill machines to perform required tasks/jobs
  • Understand specifications of the tasks and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings or instructions
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines perform the correct functions
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts into the machines
  • Supervise the machines while they execute tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce the desired result
  • Inspect and/or measure finished products to ensure the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

Position Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skills in operating machinery and tooling
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents, instructions and drawings
  • Demonstrated computer skills to ensure successful computer programming
  • Mechanical aptitude and above average math skills
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must be able to work required overtime


Education= High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Possess effective communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Must be able to interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in general math
  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must be an effective team member

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically active position requiring consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs.; must be able to stand and walk on concrete for 98% of the shift.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities are typically performed while standing or while intermittently sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching or stooping; requires reaching, pushing, pulling, and gripping/grasping. Repetitive motions may be applicable to certain products.
  • Visual acuity and hand/eye coordination.
  • Regular exposure to noise and vibration from pneumatic tools, moving machines, fumes and occasionally airborne dust and particles.
  • Requires steel/composite safety footwear and safety eye protection at all times.
